Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
This role supports a busy warehouse and production printing operation by handling materials, picking orders, maintaining a clean and organized facility, and assisting with production press coverage. You will work in a hands-on, multi-functional position that combines order picking, forklift operation, container unloading, and general warehouse duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and enjoys a variety of tasks throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Pick warehouse orders accurately and efficiently to support daily production and shipping needs.
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts safely to move pallets, materials, and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport products as needed.
- Help unload containers by hand, ensuring products are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by assisting with packing, staging, and organizing outgoing and incoming materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and production area by performing regular housekeeping tasks.
- Cover breaks on production printing presses and assist with general production tasks as needed.
- Monitor warehouse inventory locations and support basic inventory control activities.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and moving materials.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to keep operations running smoothly.
- Use computers, iPads, and software systems to access orders, update information, and support warehouse workflows.
- Adapt to changing priorities and step into different tasks across the warehouse and production floor as required.
Essential Skills
- At least 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
- At least 1+ years of material handling or similar experience.
- Sit-down forklift operating experience and demonstrated ability to operate safely.
- Experience with general warehouse activities such as picking, packing, shipping, and receiving.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
- Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use an iPad and learn new software systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order picking and material handling.
- Dependable, safety-minded work habits and a positive, engaging attitude.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in production, packaging, or general production support.
- Familiarity with stand-up forklifts is a plus.
- Comfort working with warehouse inventory systems and basic data entry.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills and pride in maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.

Work Environment
You will work in a manufacturing and warehousing facility that is not climate regulated. The workspace uses open dock doors and fans to promote airflow throughout the area. The role follows a first-shift schedule of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will regularly use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, as well as computers and iPads to support warehouse and production activities. The environment is hands-on, active, and focused on safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
