Project Manager – Electrical & Automation
Position Summary
Due to continued growth in project volume, we are seeking a Project
Manager – Electrical & Automation to support planning, coordination,
and control of ongoing electrical and automation projects. This role is strongly
project‑management focused, with an emphasis on budget control, resource
planning, internal coordination, and execution support, rather than deep
hands‑on automation or controls design.
The ideal candidate has experience managing construction or
industrial projects, understands how to track performance against plan, and
works effectively across estimating, engineering, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Controls & Financial Tracking
- Track project performance against budget and schedule
- Monitor budget vs. actuals, labor hours, material usage, and productivity
- Maintain accurate project updates within the ERP system
- Support forecasting and cost‑to‑complete visibility
- Assist with identifying and managing risk and scope changes
Resource & Manpower Coordination
- Coordinate manpower planning and technician assignments across multiple projects
- Help align labor resources with priority schedules and workload demands
- Partner with field leadership to support efficient execution and crew utilization
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with estimators during project handoff and ongoing coordination
- Collaborate regularly with other Project Managers on the electrical side of the business
- Serve as a central point of coordination between engineering, field teams, and operations
- Support consistent communication and alignment across departments
Stakeholder & Relationship Support
- Contribute to strong internal and external working relationships
- Participate in client communication as appropriate
- Nice‑to‑have: assist with relationship building and identification of future work opportunities
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in project management within electrical, automation, or construction environments
- Demonstrated strength in project controls, cost tracking, and coordination
- Understanding of construction labor, materials, and scheduling fundamentals
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative setting
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- ERP or project management system experience preferred
Preferred Background
- Electrical or automation construction project exposure
- Field or technically hands‑on Background is a plus (not required)
- Experience partnering closely with estimating and technical teams
- Open to candidates with lighter automation experience but strong PM instincts
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newton, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
