Medical Lab Scientist I (Core Laboratory) | 2nd Shift

🕒 Schedule: Monday-Friday | 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM | Rotating Weekends
About the Role
Join our Core Laboratory team as a Medical Lab Scientist I and play an important role in delivering accurate and timely results that support quality patient care. This position is ideal for a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or Medical Laboratory Technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis.
- Review and verify specimens for testing.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
- Perform quality control and routine maintenance procedures.
- Accurately analyze and report patient test results.
- Assist with specimen processing and preparation as needed.
- Maintain laboratory supplies and support daily workflow.
- Follow all laboratory safety and PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with technologists, phlebotomists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related science field
OR
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)
- ASCP or AMT certification required (or eligibility to sit for the MLS exam).
- 0-2 years of clinical laboratory experience, laboratory training, or relevant education.
- Experience or knowledge in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis testing.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to work with laboratory systems.
- Ability to pass a color vision screening.
Preferred
- Experience with SoftLab LIS.
- Experience with Cerner Community Works EMR.
- Hospital or clinical laboratory experience.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.31 - $35.31/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
