Job Description
The Sandblast Operator safely operates industrial sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare building surfaces, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support production in a manufacturing and construction-oriented environment. This role requires comfort working in a fully enclosed mask and handling a long, heavy hose while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare building surfaces according to specifications and safety standards.
- Handle and control a 2-inch, 100-foot hose while sandblasting building structures and components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues with sandblasting equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper operation and identify potential maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of a fully enclosed mask and other required protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
- Work collaboratively with team members in a manufacturing and construction-oriented setting to meet production goals.
- Adhere to work schedules, including core hours and potential overtime, to support operational demands.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate industrial sandblasting equipment safely and effectively.
- Comfort wearing a fully enclosed mask for extended periods without claustrophobia.
- Physical ability to handle and control a 2-inch, 100-foot hose while performing sandblasting tasks.
- Experience in manufacturing or construction environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical or equipment issues.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Reliability in following a structured work schedule, including early start times.
- Prior sandblasting experience is a plus but not required.
- Background in manufacturing or construction is highly beneficial.
- Willingness to work overtime on Fridays when needed or desired.
- Ability to work effectively in a small, close-knit team environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing setting with construction-related activities, focused on sandblasting buildings and large structures. The standard schedule runs from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with optional and rotating overtime on Fridays. You will work with industrial sandblasting equipment, including a 2-inch, 100-foot hose, and must wear a fully enclosed mask and other protective gear while performing your duties. The environment involves physical work, exposure to dust and noise typical of sandblasting and manufacturing operations, and requires consistent adherence to safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
