The Maintenance Technician works both independently and as part of a team to perform mechanical, electrical, and PLC troubleshooting, repair, and installation on industrial production equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Perform mechanical, electrical, and PLC troubleshooting on production machinery and support equipment.
- Install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical components on industrial equipment.
- Use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools to safely troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues within control panels and other systems.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable machine operation.
- Support PLC-controlled equipment by identifying and resolving control-related faults and errors.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with other technicians and production personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow established safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status and repair needs to the team and leadership.
- Provide support across multiple shifts, including weekdays and alternating weekends, to maintain consistent production output.
- Adapt to assigned shift schedules based on union placement and seniority while maintaining punctuality and reliability.
- Hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong industrial maintenance background with exposure to high-volume production equipment.
- Proven electrical troubleshooting experience, including safely working inside electrical panels with a multimeter.
- Demonstrated PLC troubleshooting skills, including identifying and resolving faults in PLC-controlled systems.
- Strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting abilities, with confidence working on 480V systems.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems in an industrial setting.
- Experience working with pneumatic systems used in manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Experience supporting metal stamping and metal fabrication equipment.
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes, particularly gasket production.
- Comfort working across different shifts and adjusting to changing production demands.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing equipment issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly with production staff and other technicians regarding maintenance needs and equipment status.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an automotive manufacturing facility that produces gaskets and operates extensive metal stamping and metal fabrication equipment. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with heavy machinery, PLC-controlled systems, and 480V electrical infrastructure. You work on-site across defined shifts: training occurs on 1st shift (6:45 AM – 3:00 PM), followed by placement on either 2nd shift (2:45 PM – 11:00 PM) or 3rd shift (10:45 PM – 7:00 AM), determined by union seniority. The schedule is five days per week, Monday through Friday, with work every other weekend on Saturdays and possible Sundays based on production demand. You can expect to use standard maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters while adhering to safety protocols appropriate for a busy manufacturing floor.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $30.00/hr.
