As a machinist, you will install, operate, test, and adjust various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments. Your role will involve fabricating and modifying parts to repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, drawing on your knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Responsibilities- Install and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
- Fabricate and modify parts to repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines.
- Machine parts to specifications using various machine tools.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with machine operation.
- Proficiency in operating mill, lathe, CNC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with drill press, grinder, and general machine operation.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- No specific educational or certification requirements.

Work EnvironmentWork in a non-temp controlled manufacturing facility that produces and distributes graphite. The environment is dirty, hot, and dusty. The first shift runs from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Safety is a priority, with all PPE provided except for steel toe boots/shoes. Uniforms are supplied once hired full-time.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.06 - $28.06/hr.
