Job Title: Concrete Finisher
Job Description
This role involves performing all aspects of concrete placement and finishing, including pouring, leveling, smoothing, and curing concrete for structures such as roads, sidewalks, floors, and walls. You ensure each project meets specifications by setting forms accurately, using appropriate tools and techniques, and delivering durable, high-quality finished surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Pour concrete for a variety of structures, including roads, sidewalks, floors, and walls, following project specifications and plans.
- Level and smooth freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools to achieve the required grade and finish.
- Set, align, and secure forms to ensure concrete structures meet design dimensions and tolerances.
- Use finishing tools and equipment to create smooth, broomed, or textured surfaces as specified.
- Apply sealants, curing compounds, and other protective coatings to concrete surfaces to enhance durability and performance.
- Monitor the curing process and adjust methods as needed to prevent defects such as cracking or scaling.
- Grind and polish concrete surfaces to achieve the desired appearance and surface quality.
- Place and secure rebar and other reinforcement materials to strengthen concrete structures.
- Inspect finished work to verify quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety and building standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to pour, level, smooth, and finish concrete for roads, sidewalks, floors, and walls.
- Strong concrete finishing skills, including troweling, edging, floating, and jointing.
- Experience setting and aligning concrete forms to meet project specifications.
- Proficiency in operating power tools and finishing equipment used in concrete construction.
- Knowledge of concrete curing methods and the proper application of sealants and curing compounds.
- Ability to perform grinding and polishing of concrete surfaces to achieve a specified finish.
- Experience working with rebar and other reinforcement materials in concrete construction.
- Solid understanding of construction site safety practices and procedures.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, durable concrete work.
This is a Permanent position based out of Lexington, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58000.00 - $63000.00/yr.
