Journeyman Plumber
Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for an experienced journeyman plumber to join a busy project team in Canton, MA. You will install new plumbing systems in existing structures and support the onsite plumbing team with a variety of construction-related tasks. This position is ideal for a licensed professional who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to high-quality mechanical and piping installations.
Responsibilities
- Install new plumbing systems in existing structures in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Read and follow plans, layouts, and specifications to complete plumbing installations accurately and efficiently.
- Install, connect, and secure piping systems, including PVC and other common plumbing materials.
- Use hand tools and basic mechanical tools to cut, assemble, and fit pipes, fixtures, and related components.
- Assist the onsite plumbing team with additional construction and plumbing tasks as needed to keep the project on schedule.
- Inspect completed installations for proper function, quality, and safety, and make adjustments or repairs as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all site safety rules and procedures.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members to coordinate work and resolve onsite issues.
- Report progress, issues, and material needs to the appropriate onsite personnel in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
- Active Massachusetts plumbing license.
- 2–5 years of experience working on new build construction sites.
- Proficiency in installing plumbing systems in existing structures and new construction environments.
- Hands-on experience with piping installation, including PVC and related materials.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic mechanical tools safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of plumbing installation methods and basic construction practices.
- Ability to follow plans, instructions, and safety procedures on an active job site.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a plumbing team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial or residential construction projects.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced construction environment with changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Canton, MA job site.

Work Environment
This role is based on an active construction site in Canton, MA, focused on installing new plumbing systems in existing structures. The schedule follows typical construction hours, with work performed primarily on-site. The environment is hands-on and physically active, requiring movement, lifting, and working in and around partially completed structures. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
