Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description
The General Laborer supports daily warehouse operations by moving and staging inventory, preparing materials for installation teams, and performing inventory counts and documentation. This role involves extensive physical labor, frequent use of material handling equipment, and hands-on work with tools in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Move and stage inventory throughout the warehouse using a pallet jack and other material handling equipment.
- Prepare and organize materials so they are ready and accessible for installers and project teams.
- Perform regular inventory counts and accurately document quantities, locations, and any discrepancies.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting and transporting items across the facility.
- Use hand and power tools to assist with general production, assembly, repair, and basic mechanical tasks as needed.
- Support installation activities by staging components, tools, and equipment in designated areas.
- Follow blueprints or instructions when assisting with construction, carpentry, industrial, or mechanical work.
- Contribute to quality assurance efforts by checking materials and completed work for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist maintenance and troubleshooting tasks under direction, using mechanical aptitude to help resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility guidelines and safety standards.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent project and production schedules.
- Collaborate with on-site advisors and service teams to ensure smooth workflow and clear communication.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience performing extensive physical labor in an industrial, warehouse, construction, or similar environment.
- Ability to safely perform heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks throughout an 8–10 hour workday.
- Experience with general production or warehouse operations, including material handling and staging.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools for basic assembly, repair, and mechanical tasks.
- Comfort operating pallet jacks and similar material handling equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and support troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with inventory processes, including counting, tracking, and documentation.
- Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, or written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance in all tasks.
- Consistent and dependable attendance record.
- Experience working on large industrial or warehouse projects, including exposure to major distribution facilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in construction, carpentry, or industrial environments.
- Experience with installation work or supporting installation teams.
- Exposure to large-scale projects at major logistics or e-commerce facilities.
- Experience in general labor, production, or mechanical support roles.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced warehouse with many moving parts and teams.
- Ability to work occasional Saturdays in addition to a standard Monday–Friday schedule.
This is a Contract position based out of Charlton, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
