Job Description:
V2X's Transportation Solutions Group is currently researching, testing, and providing demonstrations and security technology support to TSA's mass transit and intermodal partners across the United States. In the past, this group has supported multiple Super Bowls, the Indianapolis 500, and Thanksgiving Day travel surges. The team is responsible for finding state-of-the-art technologies to screen passengers, bags, vehicles and left behind objects for nefarious items that may cause harm to personnel or critical infrastructure. In addition, the group focuses on cutting edge artificial intelligence being used across the detection technology space. The V2X TSG consists of a diverse group of professionals tasked with designing, deploying, and evaluating physical security systems at mass transit venues and during special security events throughout the United States.
Job Summary:
The Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for leading a small team in the design, test, integration, and deployment of several video analytic software packages that focus on intrusion detection, leave-behind object detection, and behavior detection. This person will mentor less experienced staff members in project management techniques, written and oral communications, test design and execution, statistical analysis, and reporting results to sponsors.
This position is a hybrid position, expected to work 3 days/week on average (typically Tues-Thurs) from the V2X office in Harvard, Massachusetts. Comfort with daily phone and online interactions as well as strong and proactive management and collaboration skills are a must.
This position may require up to 1 week of travel per month to U.S. locations

Description:
- Lead new and ongoing technology evaluations at the V2X Harvard, MA office and Ayer, MA test facility.
- Lead new and ongoing technology evaluations at TSA stakeholder facilities across the country
- Lead meetings and demonstrations with technology vendors virtually and in person across the country.
- Conduct research, interface with vendors to understand technology capabilities, and document information effectively/as directed.
- Guide and collaborate with team members in person and virtually to understand project needs, contribute to project planning, and ensure project execution is accomplished efficiently and accurately.
- Provide leadership for project implementation, including troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- Develop deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the security technology field. Gain knowledge and experience that develops subject matter expertise across a wide variety of related systems and sensors.
- Maintain project documentation and update as necessary, including equipment inventories, site drawings, wiring diagrams, etc.
- Lead a safety culture that prioritizes employee safety across all work assignments and locations.
- Commit to V2X's core values of integrity, responsibility, respect, and professionalism.
- Participate in Air Cargo projects including acceptance testing, trainings, and other related tasks as needed. Training will be provided.
- 6-10 years of experience with security technologies, with strong understanding of the operating characteristics, capabilities, integration process, installation, and life-cycle management of a wide variety of COTS physical security, camera, and sensor technologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills with experience briefing senior leadership.
- Ability to manage projects on the order of $1M from quick turnaround projects to longer duration projects (multi-year) with a staff of 1-5 personnel.
- Ability to lead testing activities including development of site-specific test plans, test procedures, and data collection plans.
- Ability to author and present technical reports and briefs based on analysis of operational test results and data collected from field sites to TSA and stakeholder audiences.
- Ability to mentor and train junior staff members.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, including nights & weekends, if/when specific test events require.
- Comfort working directly with senior level stakeholders.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drawing package.
- Working knowledge of networking, sensor integration, and communications protocols.
- The ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
- Prior experience with Video Management Systems (Milestone, Genetec, etc).
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline, computer science, or relevant field Prior federal government contract experience
- Must be able to obtain a SECRET Clearance
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite of software, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with following security technologies is highly regarded:
- IP cameras
- Video analytics
- Person & vehicle screening systems (metal detectors, X-Ray scanners, etc.)
- Radars
- Laser sensors
- Infrared sensors
- Access Control & Biometric Systems
- Low voltage electrical systems
- Drones (ground & airborne)
- Various server architectures, including windows, Linux and virtualization
- Network Architecture and configuration of networked devices
Working Environment:
- Mostly office-based, occasional outdoor installation & testing activities.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time during testing or deployment events, walk extended distances during site visits, and lift up to 50 lbs. May be required to work at heights, including using ladders and on elevated work surfaces. Must be able to use hand tools. May be required to work in stakeholder facilities that require specific safety training (provided) for access (railyards, airports, port facilities, etc.). May be asked to work outdoors during various weather conditions.
