Test Technician – Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic/Test Technician to support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical and electronic assemblies across multiple product lines. In this role, you will be responsible for programming firmware, performing RF and mixed‑signal diagnostics, and ensuring all sub-assemblies meet engineering and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Test and inspect electrical and electronic sub‑assemblies and finished assemblies across all product lines.
  • Program firmware onto boards and individual integrated circuits.
  • Troubleshoot digital, RF, and mixed‑signal assemblies down to the component level using schematics, engineering blueprints, diagrams, and technical publications.
  • Set up and operate a broad range of test equipment, including DMMs, voltmeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and waveform generators.
  • Execute in‑factory test procedures, properly connect test equipment, identify product or stack issues, and communicate findings to management.
  • Perform technical functions on the assigned production line with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of electro‑mechanical manufacturing test experience.
  • Strong RF testing knowledge and understanding of radio‑frequency test requirements.
  • Experience working with electronic systems and test environments.
  • Working knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT).
  • Ability to interpret and analyze digital electronic signals, power supply circuits, frequency and waveform signals, and control circuits.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation such as specification control drawings and source control drawings.

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; SAP S/4 experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English required.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and overall manufacturing workflows.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Clarksburg, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
