Software Engineer
Description:
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of next-generation Sea Vehicle products. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies across the full product lifecycle, from concept development through integration and testing.
You will collaborate with a multi-functional engineering team to design and develop software at the component, subsystem, and system levels, with a focus on embedded control systems and operator interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop software solutions for technical challenges of moderate complexity across current and next-generation platforms
- Participate in full lifecycle software development, including:
- Concept development
- Design and implementation
- Lab integration
- Offsite integration, testing, and evaluation
- Build and enhance embedded control systems and sensor/operator interfaces
- Contribute at the component, subsystem, and system level
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, and test engineering
- Provide offsite integration and test support as needed
Required Skills:
- Strong programming experience with:
- C++ (primary)
- Embedded C / C
- Experience developing embedded software systems
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix-based development environments
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), OOA, and OOD
- Basic experience with shell scripting
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience
- OR Master’s degree in a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Java programming
- Familiarity with network, serial, or CAN interface development
- Exposure to configuration management tools (Git, Mercurial)
- Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tools
- Exposure to frontend technologies, such as:
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- CSS
- REST APIs
- SQL or NoSQL databases
- Web UI development

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Hunt Valley, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $90.00/hr.
