Job Title: Antenna Test Software Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer who is passionate about programming software in C/C++ or MATLAB to automate test fixtures and develop test software in a Nearfield and Compact Antenna Range. This role involves creating software programs, troubleshooting RF issues during tests of advanced antenna systems, and supporting technicians with troubleshooting and training. The ideal candidate will analyze test data to identify early trends and collaborate with design engineering for hardware and test improvements.
Responsibilities
- Program software in C/C++ or MATLAB to automate test fixtures.
- Develop test software in a Nearfield and Compact Antenna Range.
- Create software programs to automate tests.
- Troubleshoot RF issues during tests of advanced antenna systems.
- Support technicians with troubleshooting and training.
- Analyze test data and identify early trends.
- Support program meetings by developing root cause and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design engineering for hardware and test improvements.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in C/C++ or MATLAB programming.
- Experience with RF Design or RF testing with antennas.
- Hands-on experience testing in a lab with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and network analyzers.
- Ability to troubleshoot RF issues and analyze test data.
- Excellent collaboration skills with design engineering teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-5+ years of professional or project-based experience in software development with C/C++ or MATLAB.
- Experience through coursework or projects with RF Design or RF testing with antennas.
Work Environment
Our work environment includes both indoor and outdoor Antenna Test Range at the BWI campus, requiring engineers to work with RF design engineers to create test equipment and automated test software for RF products. The environment is a mix of lab work and indoor/outdoor ranges, predominantly on cleared programs. The lab operates 24/7, with multiple shifts needing coverage to ensure seamless transition of work from first shift to second shift. Available shifts include a weekday third shift (Monday-Friday) and a weekend shift (Friday-Sunday), both requiring an active Secret Clearance to start, and eligibility for SAP.
