Inventory Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming parts and materials and accurately record receipts in the ERP system.
- Label, store, and organize inventory to ensure efficient retrieval and traceability.
- Pick parts and kits based on work orders and document transactions in Excel.
- Maintain accurate records of batch, lot, and serial numbers for full product traceability.
- Track inventory movement from receipt through shipment.
- Pack, crate, and prepare materials for shipment after confirming quality inspections are complete.
- Monitor shipped versus non-shipped inventory and maintain shipment tracking records.
- Investigate, report, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Perform ERP transactions including receiving, inventory transfers, and issuing materials to production/jobs.
- Conduct cycle counts and support inventory control activities.
- Operate pallet jacks and warehouse equipment to move materials safely.
- Support shipping and receiving operations to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse technology for inventory tracking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of inventory, warehouse, or material handling experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and inventory management processes.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
- Strong Excel skills for inventory tracking, reporting, and traceability documentation.
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management tools.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and perform material handling activities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and inventory documentation.
- Good computer skills and ability to navigate ERP and spreadsheet systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a large-scale manufacturing or distribution facility.
- Exposure to aerospace, defense, or commercial manufacturing environments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse setting.
- Strong problem-solving and inventory reconciliation skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed.
- Continuous improvement mindset and adaptability to process changes.
Work Environment
- Large manufacturing and warehouse campus supporting commercial, aerospace, and defense customers.
- Standard shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Overtime opportunities: Typically 5-10 hours per week, with occasional Saturday shifts.
- Uses ERP systems (SAP preferred), Excel, RF scanners, pallet jacks, and standard warehouse equipment.
- Safety-focused, organized, and high-volume operational environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middle River, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
