Description
Our client is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager responsible for researching, analyzing, and documenting technical accounting positions for the Company in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Technical Accounting Manager will also be instrumental in establishing accounting policies and providing guidance on technical accounting matters, working closely with various departments across the organization to ensure proper accounting treatment for complex transactions, contracts, and emerging issues. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of the Company's financial statements.
- Research and document technical accounting positions on complex transactions, contracts, and arrangements and report recommendations to executive management
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures for new business processes or areas where existing documentation is insufficient
- Evaluate and document accounting treatment for revenue contracts, leases, debt and equity instruments, and other complex arrangements
- Analyze and implement new accounting pronouncements and standards
- Provide guidance to the accounting team and various departments on technical accounting matters
- Support the financial statement preparation and disclosure process from a technical accounting perspective
- Collaborate with external auditors on technical accounting matters and respond to related inquiries
- Participate in system implementations to ensure alignment with accounting requirements
- Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockville, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $69.72 - $81.74/hr.
