Job Title: Project Scheduler


Job Description

Create, develop, and maintain detailed resource-loaded schedules, considering industry-known best practices of schedule management, performance work statements (PWSs), technical proposals, work breakdown structures, and directions from project managers and technical leads. Utilize Primavera P6 Scheduling Software for both basic and advanced scheduling functions. Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis and tracking/tracing for project cost analysis, project performance, and risk management purposes according to recognized standards in EVM and utilizing EVMS tools. Create, develop, and maintain schedule baselines and create connections and tie-ins between individual project elements and broader enterprise-wide development schedules. Work with all technical engineering and non-technical stakeholders to collect progress and performance updates and keep the schedules up to date. Perform schedule analysis, including critical path and float analysis, near-critical path activities’ assessment, “what-if” scenarios/analysis, schedule variances, etc., and create related reports as directed and requested. Perform schedule health-checks/audits considering industry-known best practices/policies and/or the internally developed/adopted evaluation criteria/scorecard. Understanding of schedule impacts for DOE/DOD/nuclear fleet industry elements would be a plus. Perform schedule impact analysis to support risk and issue management and change management processes. Support detailed technical report and proposal-related efforts including, but not limited to, WBS and schedule development and cost and resource analysis/projections. Conduct Schedule Management trainings and brief Schedule management analysis as needed. Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members and potentially evolve to a role to help manage junior team members.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Primavera P6 Scheduling Software.
  • Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies, processes, and policies.
  • Familiarity with industry-known best practices of scheduling management and schedule health-check/audit processes.
  • Ability to perform critical path and float analysis, near-critical path activities’ assessment, “what-if” scenarios/analysis, and schedule variances.
  • Experience using scheduling management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Engineering, Science or other Technical Degree.
  • Typically, fifteen plus years’ experience in schedule management or project management or related industry experience.
  • Understanding of schedule impacts for DOE/DOD/nuclear fleet industry elements.
