Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Total Rewards to lead the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive total rewards strategy. This high-impact leadership role partners closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to build programs that drive performance, align with organizational goals, and support a high-performing, engaged workforce. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and the Board on compensation and benefits strategy
- Design, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide total rewards programs, including:
- Base compensation structures
- Incentive and bonus programs
- Executive compensation and equity plans
- Health, welfare, and retirement benefits
- Lead and manage merit cycles, compensation planning, and salary benchmarking using market data
- Oversee self-insured and employer-sponsored benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and cost-efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and reporting requirements related to compensation, payroll, and benefits
- Partner with leadership to guide compensation decisions and organizational design considerations
- Develop and present analytical reports and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement of total rewards processes, systems, and policies
- Support ongoing initiatives, including vendor evaluations and RFP processes
Team Leadership
This role will oversee a team responsible for key Total Rewards functions, including:
- Compensation (Manager & Analyst)
- Payroll (Manager)
- HRIS (Manager)
- Benefits Administration
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of experience across compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams
- Experience within a publicly traded organization, including exposure to executive compensation and equity programs
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance related to compensation, payroll, and benefits
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing competitive compensation strategies
- Experience managing merit cycles, incentive plans, and equity-based compensation
- Solid understanding of benefits design, ideally including self-insured plans
- Experience with payroll operations and systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present insights effectively
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience within the banking or financial services industry

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $210000.00/yr.
