Job Title: Senior Architectural Designer
Job Description
Actively participate in the creation, production, and development of design concepts, schematic level documents, and technical construction documentation assigned by the studio. Utilize time management skills to coordinate production assignments with the project's schedule. Engage in the coordination and communication of project design, technical solutions, and product strategies with team members, stakeholders, and sub-consultants. Skillfully communicate project execution strategies with client representatives while maintaining technical and quality standards. Advance professional development through training and education, promoting mentorship and education among team members. Participate in company events, learning workshops, and professional/team development activities.
Responsibilities
- Create and produce design concepts, schematic level documents, and technical construction documentation.
- Coordinate production assignments with the project's production schedule.
- Communicate and coordinate project design, technical solutions, and product strategies with team members and stakeholders.
- Maintain technical and quality standards.
- Engage in professional development and promote mentorship within the team.
- Interpret and implement project requirements and scope of work.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to meet firm objectives.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe, and redlining.
- Experience in Revit design and development for civic, municipality, and commercial projects.
- Experience in construction documentation and administration.
- 1-3 years of professional experience as an Architectural Designer 3, with approximately 3-6 years overall experience.
- Professionally accredited degree in architecture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Developing knowledge of building codes and building code analysis.
- Ability to autonomously develop architectural systems and assemblies.
- Fluency in proportion, scale, texture, context, materiality, and quality design.
Work Environment
The work environment includes free parking and a brand new office space adjacent to a mall, conveniently located off 95 in White Marsh. The firm was recently named a finalist for 'Best Places to Work' and is an award-winning design practice with a team of 25 architects and designers. Employees typically come in 2-3 times a week, depending on project support needs. Initially, the architect will be required to be in the office every day for at least the first month to collaborate with the team.
