Job Title: Validation Engineer
Job Description
The Validation Engineer executes validation protocols for equipment, utilities, and facility systems to ensure they meet established quality and regulatory requirements. This hands-on role focuses on performing validation and qualification activities, collecting and documenting data, and supporting deviation investigations under the guidance of senior validation and quality personnel. The engineer contributes directly to the successful start-up of a new facility and line of business by ensuring critical systems operate reliably and compliantly.
Responsibilities
- Execute validation protocols for equipment, utilities, and facility systems in accordance with approved procedures
- Perform qualification activities for systems such as clean compressed air (CCA), water systems, steam, nitrogen, and other plant utilities
- Support commissioning and qualification of facility systems including HVAC, boilers, heaters, and related infrastructure
- Perform hands-on validation tasks such as loading materials, installing sensors, and conducting temperature mapping activities
- Monitor test execution and document results accurately and thoroughly
- Identify deviations or non-conformances during testing and document findings per established procedures
- Support deviation investigations by collecting data and preparing initial reports for review by Quality Assurance and senior validation staff
- Provide feedback on protocols and test execution where discrepancies in system performance or expected outcomes are observed
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's Degree - Engineering or Life Sciences
- 3-5 years of Experience in a Validation Engineering role focuses on equipment/utilities/facilities validation
- Experience validating steam, nitrogen, compressed air, water, HVAC systems, fill lines, isolators, etc.
- Technical Writing Experience (Write Deviations or Non-conformances)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a start-up environment of a clean room/line.
- SOP or validation protocols writing experience
- Aseptic Environment
Work Environment
The role operates within a regulated, aseptic facility environment that is undergoing start-up of a new cleanroom and line of business.
Working in cleanroom and controlled areas that follow strict GMP and aseptic practices, with appropriate gowning and adherence to established procedures.
The environment emphasizes collaboration with quality and engineering teams, offers the opportunity to contribute to building a new operation.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Caledonia, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
