Job Title: Batch Operator - 1st or 3rd Shift
Job Description
This position is a hybrid role focusing on the safe and efficient operation of a yard switcher and the loading of finished goods and raw materials into bulk tank wagons. Responsibilities include weighing tankers in and out on the company scale and ensuring all paperwork matches the assigned tanker and related materials. The role requires the proper staging of tankers and inspection and connection of all related equipment from storage tanks or blend vessels before loading materials. Strong communication skills are necessary to report issues or delays to supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Drive a yard switcher safely and efficiently.
- Load finished goods and raw materials into bulk tank wagons.
- Weigh tankers in and out on the company scale, ensuring paperwork accuracy.
- Stage tankers and inspect and connect storage tanks or blend vessels prior to loading.
- Report any issues or delays to shift supervisors or managers.
- Move trailers on site to support production.
- Transport drum trailers between the dock and the yard as needed.
Essential Skills
- Experience with production, mixing, blending, and batch mixing.
- Ability to move drums up to 500 pounds safely using a hilo.
- Forklift certification from previous jobs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk great distances.
- Capability to work in small spaces and at high locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift bags and other containers up to 50 pounds safely.
This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.81 - $20.81/hr.
