Job Description
The VDC / BIM Manager leads virtual design and construction (VDC) and BIM efforts for large, multi-discipline construction projects, ensuring high-quality, coordinated, and constructible digital models.
This role provides technical leadership, develops and implements BIM standards and execution plans, supports pre-construction, design, and project management teams, and helps drive innovation in VDC tools and workflows.

Responsibilities
- Understand and support project workflows across schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
- Apply a strong understanding of project delivery methods and coordination methods to optimize VDC/BIM processes.
- Assist VDC/BIM leadership in supporting in-house pre-construction, design, and project management teams with day-to-day and long-term tasks, duties, and training.
- Collaborate with VDC/BIM leadership to explore and implement advanced VDC applications such as 4D scheduling and 5D cost modeling.
- Develop BIM Scope of Work, BIM Project Execution Plans, BIM schedules, and related documentation required to complete the agreed scope with VDC/BIM leadership and project teams.
- Lead and self-perform BIM coordination efforts for large-scale, multi-discipline projects, ensuring effective collaboration among stakeholders.
- Set up, manage, and maintain federated models using Revit, Navisworks, and related platforms.
- Run clash detection processes, manage issue tracking, and drive models toward clash-free signoff milestones.
- Ensure all VDC/BIM deliverables meet defined quality, accuracy, and constructability expectations.
- Track and clearly communicate schedule and cost impacts associated with coordination issues or scope changes.
- Monitor emerging software and technology trends in VDC/BIM and work with the team to introduce new tools and skills, both within and beyond Navisworks and Revit.
- Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and technical guidance to BIM Coordinators and project teams.
- Define, document, and communicate project goals, milestones, and expectations to internal and external team members.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
