The concrete laborer supports commercial construction projects by assisting with foundation work and concrete activities on site. This role involves moving materials and equipment, constructing and setting forms for footings and foundation walls according to blueprints, and helping with concrete pours and basic finishing. The position is physically demanding, requires frequent lifting of heavy materials, and involves working outdoors in active construction environments.
Responsibilities- Report to the commercial job site each morning and prepare for daily foundation and concrete work.
- Carry concrete materials, tools, and equipment from the truck to the work area safely and efficiently.
- Construct and set wooden and metal forms for footings and foundation walls in accordance with blueprints and layout plans.
- Follow direction from the foreman on form placement, alignment, and adjustments.
- Use hand tools such as hammers and tape measures to assemble, secure, and align forms accurately.
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 100 lbs as part of daily tasks.
- Assist with concrete pours, including placing, spreading, and consolidating concrete as directed.
- Perform basic concrete finishing using trowels and other tools to achieve the required surface quality.
- Support general site cleanup, including removing debris, organizing tools, and maintaining a safe work area.
- Work cooperatively with other trades and crew members on a busy construction site with active machinery and equipment.
- Adhere to all site safety rules, use required personal protective equipment, and remain aware of surroundings in a dynamic work zone.
- Concrete finishing or foundation experience.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Experience working with basic construction tools such as hammers and hand tools.
- Capability to frequently lift and carry up to 100 lbs as part of daily work.
- Reliability in reporting to commercial job sites early in the morning and working full shifts.
- Ability to follow directions from a foreman and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Ownership and use of wet boots, a hard hat, and basic personal tools required for the job.
- Construction experience specific to concrete work.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based on an outdoor commercial construction site, specifically assigned to a large riverfront project that is scheduled to run through the end of October. The work takes place Monday through Friday, with typical start times between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and finishing around 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on workload and weather, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The environment is dirty and dusty, with multiple trades working in close proximity. There is frequent movement of machinery, tools, materials, and people as the structure is built. You will work on uneven surfaces and in changing weather conditions while wearing appropriate construction attire, including wet boots, a hard hat, and other standard protective gear. Pay is based on experience.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
