Job Description
This role involves assembling large commercial HVAC units in a modern manufacturing facility on a 1st shift schedule. You will work at a designated station on the assembly line, using hand and power tools to build high-quality units that serve large buildings such as apartment complexes, hospitals, and commercial facilities. The position offers structured training, a strong focus on safety, and the opportunity to develop mechanical and electrical assembly skills across multiple plants.
Responsibilities
- Perform repetitive mechanical assembly work at a designated station on the production line, following established procedures and work instructions.
- Assemble large HVAC units and their components in a manufacturing environment, ensuring accuracy and quality at each step.
- Rotate between different stations over time as needed, adapting to changing work assignments based on customer and production requirements.
- Use hand tools and power tools daily to assemble, secure, and adjust parts and components.
- Assist in assembling units designed for commercial applications, including large buildings, apartment complexes, and healthcare facilities.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times, including participating in safety training during the first week and ongoing refreshers as needed.
- Perform tasks such as brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and conducting quality checks and tests once fully trained.
- Support the testing process by helping ensure units are tested multiple times before shipment and reporting any issues identified during testing.
- Identify and report malfunctions, defects, or irregularities in parts, tools, or equipment to the production supervisor promptly.
- Enter and work inside large units when required to properly assemble internal components, demonstrating comfort with physically demanding tasks.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints to understand assembly requirements, component placement, and sequence of operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, keeping tools and materials properly stored and accessible.
- Collaborate with team members and lead technicians to meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Adhere to production schedules, including voluntary overtime and occasional mandatory overtime with advance notice, to support customer demand.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated physical capability to bend, twist, and move in and around large units to perform assembly tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively, up to approximately 44 times per shift, based on previous work history.
- Comfort with climbing into large units to assemble internal components, within established safety guidelines.
- Willingness to learn new skills and processes, with a positive attitude toward training and development from the ground up.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools in a production environment.
- Ability to stand and move around the facility for a large portion of the workday.
- Reliability in following safety procedures and protocols consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- One year or more of assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly or maintenance work.
- Exposure to electrical work or electrical components, including basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Experience with conduit bending or similar tasks in a mechanical or electrical setting.
- Strong mechanical inclination and problem-solving skills related to mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints or willingness to learn blueprint reading as part of the role.

Work Environment
The role is based in a modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that assembles large HVAC units across multiple plants. The work environment is very clean and well organized, with each station set up with the tools and equipment needed for efficient assembly. Testing stations and processes continue to evolve as newer buildings and plants come online, offering exposure to a growing operation. You will work on 1st shift, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime is generally voluntary but may become mandatory with advance notice depending on production needs, and some weekend work currently occurs. You will spend much of the day on your feet, moving around the station and occasionally climbing into large units to complete internal assembly work. Team members work closely together, and you will have a lead technician to shadow during the first few weeks to support your training and integration into the team.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
