Job Overview
We are looking for experienced Welders to join our team fabricating structural steel bridge components. This role involves flux-core MIG welding, blueprint reading, fabrication work, and operating various shop equipment. Candidates should be comfortable working in a physically demanding fabrication environment and be able to work independently.
Schedule
1st Shift: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM
2nd Shift: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM

Responsibilities
- Perform flux-core MIG welding on structural steel components up to 1/2" thick
- Read and interpret blueprints for layouts and fabrication
- Fabricate bridge components to specifications
- Operate overhead cranes and Jib cranes
- Use fabrication equipment including:
- Band saws
- Drill presses
- Stud welders
- Grinders
- Maintain quality and safety standards
- Assist with general fabrication tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Strong structural welding experience
- Experience with flux-core MIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable kneeling, bending, stooping, and crawling as needed
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous lead welder experience
- Structural steel fabrication experience
- Experience operating overhead cranes
Work Environment
- Structural steel fabrication shop environment
- Physical, hands-on role
- Shop can become warm during summer months and may be dusty or dirty
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and welding in various positions throughout the shift

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
