Job Description
This role focuses on performing high-quality TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel components used in staging, risers, platforms, railings, and other venue structures. You will work directly from blueprints and weld symbols, fabricate and assemble custom pieces, and ensure a clean, precise finish on all welded parts. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects for major sports and entertainment venues while working in a modern, well-organized manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel materials with thicknesses ranging from 0.090 inches to 1 inch.
- Fabricate components such as staging, risers, platforms, railings, and other venue-related structures according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to complete work accurately.
- Assist with assembly of components while welding parts together to create complete structures.
- Carry out metal finishing on welded components, including grinding and fitting, to achieve a clean and professional appearance.
- Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on welded components to confirm structural integrity and adherence to standards.
- Utilize MIG welding when needed to support fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in alignment with 5S and LEAN manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- At least 1 year of TIG welding and/or metal fabrication experience.
- Proficiency in TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel materials.
- Ability to read and interpret weld symbols and blueprints accurately.
- Experience with blueprint reading and fitting components for fabrication.
- Skill in metal finishing, including grinding and smoothing welded components.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures to verify dimensions.
- Basic MIG welding experience to support fabrication tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and finishes.
- 3 or more years of custom TIG welding experience on railings.
- Certified Welding Inspector credential.
- Experience fabricating railings and safety guards for structural or architectural applications.
- Familiarity with working in a 5S and LEAN manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working on projects related to large venues such as stadiums, arenas, and performance spaces.

The role is based in a large manufacturing facility with clean, well-maintained, and state-of-the-art equipment. You will work with modern welding, fabrication, and finishing equipment to produce staging, railing, and related components for arts, sports, and entertainment venues, including major stadiums and high-profile events.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooklyn Park, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
