You will work on the production floor (non–clean room), standing at machine stations with floor mats, feeding wires into buffing machines, verifying measurements with automated and manual tools, and documenting your work according to written instructions. The position offers opportunities to cross-train on additional machines and potentially in clean room areas over time.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual and automated grinding and buffing machines to process wires for medical applications according to defined work instructions.
- Feed wires into buffing machines, monitor the process, and ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
- Use an automatic measuring machine to verify that parts remain within specified tolerances, responding promptly when the machine indicates an out-of-tolerance condition.
- Notify a technician when measurements fall outside tolerance so that machine adjustments can be made in a timely manner.
- Perform visual inspections of parts to identify defects, surface issues, or irregularities and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools to confirm correct dimensions and adherence to specifications.
- Read, understand, and follow written work instructions and production documentation in English, ensuring accurate and complete records.
- Complete required production and quality documentation clearly and accurately for each job or batch.
- Handle, package, and stage thin medical coils and related components with care, maintaining part integrity and traceability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with medical manufacturing and facility regulations.
- Adhere to all safety procedures when working around larger production machines, including proper use of guards and awareness of moving components.
- Collaborate with technicians, leads, and teammates to resolve production issues and maintain consistent workflow.
- Participate in cross-training on additional machine stations and, if desired, on clean room processes to expand skills and flexibility.
- Support general production activities such as basic assembly, kitting, and packaging as needed to meet production goals.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding production status, quality concerns, and any equipment issues encountered during the shift.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 months of manufacturing or production experience, or equivalent hands-on work in a similar environment.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow work instructions and documentation in English.

- Basic experience with machine operation in a production, assembly, or packaging environment.
- Ability to perform visual inspection and pay close attention to detail to detect defects or irregularities.
- Capability to use or learn to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Willingness to work 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Comfort working around larger automated and manual machines while following established safety protocols.
- Reliable attendance and consistent work history demonstrating commitment and dependability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in medical device manufacturing, medical assembly, or work in a regulated medical production environment.
- Experience in clean room operations, electronic assembly, or detailed kitting and packaging work.
- Customer service experience that demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow detailed quality and regulatory requirements common in medical manufacturing.
- Interest in cross-training across multiple machine stations and potentially in clean room areas.
- Motivation to build a long-term career in manufacturing, particularly in the medical device industry.
- Openness to learning new technologies, equipment, and processes as the facility continues to grow and invest in new capabilities.
Why Work Here?
You join a growing and stable organization that has expanded its facility and continues to bring in new business while maintaining consistent workflow without layoffs, even through past recessions. The company offers a modern, beautiful, and highly organized building with a clean, well-lit production environment. The facility is a recently built, very organized, and well-lit shop designed for efficient and clean operations. Work in this position is primarily standing at machine stations, with floor mats provided to increase comfort, and involves operating larger but well-guarded machines that require attention to safety and mechanical aptitude. You will handle very thin medical coils and small components that require fine motor skills and attention to detail. The shift is 3rd shift, running Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The building includes a spacious, attractive break room equipped with multiple vending machines, refrigerators, microwaves, and other amenities for employee comfort.
