Cleanroom Technician / Industrial Sewer-Fabricator

Are you detail-oriented, hands-on, and passionate about producing high-quality work? We are seeking a Cleanroom Technician / Industrial Sewer-Fabricator to join our team in a precision-driven manufacturing environment supporting the aerospace, cryogenic, and defense industries.
This unique role combines industrial sewing, fabrication, assembly, inspection, and documentation within a cleanroom setting. You will work with specialized multilayer insulation (MLI) materials, interpret detailed work instructions and shop prints, and contribute to the production of critical products used in advanced technologies. Extensive training is provided for candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines to sew heavy canvas and other specialized materials.
- Read and interpret shop prints, blueprints, and work instructions to fabricate products to exact specifications.
- Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately using rulers and measuring tools.
- Assemble and handle components while following strict cleanroom and quality standards.
- Complete detailed production and quality documentation in compliance with ISO and AS9100 requirements.
- Perform visual inspections and measurements to verify product quality and conformance.
- Maintain cleanroom protocols, including proper gowning procedures and contamination control practices.
- Support assembly, fabrication, and inspection activities requiring high levels of accuracy and traceability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors, trainers, and teammates to ensure quality and productivity goals are achieved.
- Safely lift and move materials weighing up to 25 lbs as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ months of sewing experience (industrial, commercial, or personal) OR at least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- At least 6 months of experience in inspection, assembly, or documentation-intensive manufacturing work.
- Ability to read and use a ruler accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to pass reading, English, and math assessments.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic understanding of blueprints, shop prints, or technical work instructions.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Reliable work history and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cleanroom manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with gowning procedures and contamination control practices.
- Experience in aerospace, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, GMP, or related quality systems.
- Experience with quality inspection and detailed documentation processes.
- Hands-on experience using industrial sewing machines or similar equipment.
- Medical assembly or cleanroom production experience.
- High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmington, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
