Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
Join our team as a Field Service Technician where you will be on the road daily, traveling to various sites that may be as close as 10 minutes or as far as 2 hours away. As you become proficient, expect to spend 50% of your time traveling overnight, which may include plane travel to out-of-state locations. Your role will involve diagnosing and solving mechanical issues, interacting with customers, and building trust through clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Travel daily with an average of 1-2 hours one-way, with potential overnight stays.
- Perform weekend work occasionally, with opportunities for overtime.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain findings and solutions.
- Maintain high standards of precision, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Adapt and learn continuously, embracing change and building technical expertise.
- Use technology such as service software, tablets, and measurement instruments.
- Ensure clean rooms are certified by scanning HEPA filters and conducting particle counts.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, such as changing filters and replacing motors.
- Document findings in Excel reports and maintain strong customer relationships.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong math and data entry skills in Excel.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel 50% of the time within a 4-hour radius of Plymouth, MN.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pharmacists and biomedical engineers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree from a 2-year technical college or from a 4-year program preferred.
- Presentation skills with the ability to maintain a professional appearance.
- Technical aptitude and willingness to scale to a Sr. Technician role.
Work Environment
Work involves traveling to customer sites, particularly in clean rooms, and handling equipment such as fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, medical HVAC systems, laminar flows, and autoclaves. Start times vary between 7-8 AM depending on the customer, and the role requires adaptability to different job durations and locations. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
