Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for making authoritative decisions and recommendations that significantly impact the extensive engineering activities of the business unit. You will coach managers to do the same. Individuals at this level demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering complexities, planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall supervision to the department to ensure that technical, administrative, labor, and schedule targets are met within the framework of established corporate policy and in accordance with applicable professional standards, design-control procedures, and corporate procedures and guidelines.
- Plan, organize, and guide extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and importance.
- Collaborate with the commercial side of the business to prioritize work and allocate resources.
- Negotiate critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations.
- Assist executives and/or directors in defining organizational goals and strategic plans.
- Develop guidelines, processes, and procedures for an assigned functional area.
- Manage resource allocation and plan for future needs.
- Serve as a technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to their field of expertise.
- Interact with sales personnel and customers and respond to their needs.
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Resolve critical issues and contribute to organizational development.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 12+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- Broad knowledge of the field.
- Proven strong leadership skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience in Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering.
- Skills in engineering management, new product development, research & development, systems engineering, hardware engineering, and electronics.
This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $212000.00/yr.
