Job Description
Join our team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist, where you will handle credit and re-bill transactions, invoice corrections, and manage incoming payments. Your role will involve processing payments through various methods, researching and resolving payment discrepancies, and preparing daily cash deposits and reports. You will also reconcile customer accounts and assist with month-end reporting.
Responsibilities
- Process credit and re-bill transactions, and invoice corrections.
- Manage incoming payments to appropriate accounts using lock boxes, credit card transactions, EDI transactions, checks, and cash.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Prepare daily cash deposits and reports.
- Resolve deductions using appropriate General Ledger accounts.
- Process and adjust N3F chargebacks and refund checks.
- Reconcile customer accounts.
- Generate and process month-end reports.
- Review unearned discount transactions.
- Experience in payment processing and cash application.
- Proficiency in accounts receivable management.
- 1+ year of AR, Cash App, or Collections experience.
- High School Diploma required.
- Experience in an automated AR/Cash App environment is a plus.
- Basic Excel skills (no pivot table or vlookup creation required).
Our company, centrally located just west of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, MN, offers a family-like atmosphere. We are a family-owned distributor of plumbing and HVAC equipment, and have experienced 10-15% growth in recent years. Our accounting team consists of about 15 members with separate teams for Credit/Collections and Cash Application. You will be the second full-time employee focused on Cash Application, with opportunities to learn other aspects of AR. Training and support will be provided by our current AR/Cash App team and Credit Manager. Our office is in a modest two to three-story building, and we use Infor as our ERP system with Billtrust as our payment portal. We are transitioning to automated processes, and your hours will typically be from 9 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
