Description

Develops and maintains Design Standards to govern the conventional and computerized mechanical design analysis methods, and facilitates the design process reducing design lead times. Actively manages project plans for product development consistent with the overall company strategic plan driving them to completion. Provides input to management for financial planning, capital planning, and product development. Responsible for creating and maintaining standards, designs, drawings, and specifications for quotations, products, and aftermarket. Responsible for creating project schedules to complete projects in required time. Resolves production problems, and render technical and process assistance to shop. Ensures manufacturability input provided by Manufacturing Engineering is incorporated into designs. Provides support to Marketing on inquiries and new orders to assure technical and economic feasibility. Performs other activities as required by the Leader or Product Engineering Manager.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS Mechanical Engineering degree required; machine design emphasis preferred. Minimum of 2 – 3+ years’ experience in the design or development of large motors and/or generators, or equal level of product complexity. Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Self-starter, results-oriented, flexible, and team player. Excellent written and verbal communications skills with internal and external customers. Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple, changing priorities and problem-solve simultaneously. Demonstrated record of managing projects that produce quantifiable-bottom-line results. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing both internally and with customers.
