Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled accountant who will play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. The position involves account reconciliations, supporting audit and regulatory filing for both internal and external auditors, and managing special projects and ad hoc reporting. You will serve as a point of contact with Financial Business Partners, manage fixed assets, and oversee building and equipment lease management. Additionally, you will prepare and analyze financial packets, handle journal entries, and implement and maintain effective internal controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Support audit and regulatory filing processes for internal and external auditors.
  • Engage in special projects and ad hoc reporting.
  • Act as a point of contact with Financial Business Partners.
  • Manage fixed assets and oversee building and equipment leases.
  • Prepare and analyze financial packets.
  • Process journal entries.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in related field, plus 5-7 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry (highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Great Plains software (highly preferred).
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • Experience in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Effective and professional communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

Work Environment:

This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with a large healthcare insurance company known for creating programs that serve the greater good. Employees are expected to work, on average, two days a week in the office
