Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Credit and Collections Specialist to join our team. This role involves collecting customer receivables across the organization and assisting customers with account inquiries while troubleshooting account balance issues. You will be part of the credit management team, ensuring coverage for credit matters during business hours and assisting in the release of credit holds. Building strong relationships with customers and internal teams is crucial, as you will provide excellent customer service and partner with sales associates on collection efforts. Additionally, you will provide documentation and support for state and local sales tax audits.
Responsibilities
- Collect customer receivables across the organization.
- Assist customers with account inquiries and troubleshoot account balance issues.
- Ensure coverage for credit matters during business hours as part of the credit management team.
- Assist in the release of credit holds.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Provide documentation and support for state and local sales tax audits.
Essential Skills
- Experience in collection and accounts receivable.
- Knowledge of credit management and new account setup.
- Strong customer service skills.
- 1+ years of experience managing credit for small to large customers, preferably in a distribution environment.
- Understanding of credit laws and regulations (e.g., Truth in Lending, Fair Credit Reporting, Fair Debt Collection Practices).
- Familiarity with credit risk management methods, including liens, payment bonds, joint checks, and personal guarantees.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Eclipse ERP (Epicor product).
- Basic Excel skills for data dumping from ERP to Excel tabs.
Work Environment
The team consists of five members nationally, with some located in Minnesota and others in the Dakotas and Montana. The team comprises three Credit Managers and two Credit & Collections Support Specialists, who support the Credit Managers regionally. The work schedule is five days in the office, with a firm 8-5 pm schedule to ensure coverage until 5 pm. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.04 - $28.84/hr.
