Metal Laborer
Job Description
This role involves measuring, cutting, and fabricating aluminum in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment. You will operate fabrication equipment, use a tape measure accurately throughout your shift, and help ensure products meet precise specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Measure aluminum materials accurately using a tape measure throughout the entire shift.
- Cut aluminum and other metal materials to specified dimensions using appropriate machinery and tools.
- Operate fabrication and cutting machines safely and efficiently in a manufacturing shop environment.
- Follow production instructions, work orders, and measurement specifications to meet quality and output requirements.
- Inspect materials and finished parts to verify accuracy of measurements and overall quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety guidelines and shop procedures.
- Report any equipment issues, material defects, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to measure materials accurately with a tape measure.
- Hands-on experience with cutting metal and operating fabrication machinery.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing shop environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and quality output.
- Capability to stand, move, and perform repetitive tasks for the duration of the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Certifications or formal schooling related to manufacturing or fabrication are a strong plus.
- Familiarity with general fabrication processes and shop practices.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work well as part of a production team.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing shop operating on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The facility is non-climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. You will work around fabrication and cutting machinery in an industrial environment, following safety protocols at all times. Steel toe boots and safety glasses are required as part of the dress code and personal protective equipment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
