Civil Designer
Design infrastructure that shapes communities—and grow your career doing it.
We’re seeking an experienced Civil Designer to support diverse, technically challenging civil engineering projects. In this role, you’ll produce high-quality, constructible designs for projects including site development, land development, roadways, drainage and stormwater systems, water and sewer utilities, erosion control, traffic control, airports, and facility layouts.
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed civil design drawings and calculations for complex projects.
- Create layouts, size system components, and refine sketches into construction-ready documents.
- Apply applicable codes, standards, and specifications to all designs.
- Perform grading, excavation, and volume calculations.
- Incorporate schedule, budget, and project criteria into practical design solutions.
- Manage drawing revisions and maintain organized project documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and designers in a multi-discipline team.
- Support quality reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years, Associate degree with 8+ years, or 9+ years of progressive civil design experience.
- Experience in civil infrastructure and site development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel.
- Solid understanding of civil design principles, calculations, and industry standards.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Primarily office-based, working with industry-standard design tools in a collaborative, professional setting. Projects are delivered with a strong focus on quality, organization, and meeting schedule and budget goals.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
