Sr Protection Engineer
Shape the future of power system reliability and safety
Are you a protection engineer who wants to do more than run studies—someone who wants to influence how critical power systems are designed, protected, and improved? Join a team where your expertise drives real-world impact across complex and meaningful projects.
We’re seeking a Sr Protection Engineer who thrives on solving challenging problems, leading technical efforts, and mentoring others—while working on diverse power systems spanning transmission, distribution, generation, and industrial environments.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Meaningful, high-impact work
- Your projects directly improve the reliability, safety, and performance of critical power infrastructure across industries.
- Technical depth without limits
- Work on a wide variety of systems, clients, and challenges—no repetitive, one-size-fits-all projects.
- Flexibility that fits your life
- Balance office, remote, and field work depending on project needs and your preferences.
- A culture of expertise and collaboration
- Join a team that values deep technical knowledge, continuous learning, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Growth and leadership opportunities
- Mentor junior engineers, shape projects, and expand your influence across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Perform advanced system studies, including:
- Short circuit and coordination analysis
- Relay settings and protection coordination
- Harmonic, motor starting, and arc flash studies
- Analyze faults and arc flash hazards to improve system safety and compliance
- Design and optimize protection schemes for transmission, distribution, and substations
- Program and configure protective relays (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, and others)
- Conduct power quality investigations—from baseline assessments to forensic analysis
- Troubleshoot failures and recommend actionable solutions
- Develop scopes, estimates, and technical deliverables for complex projects
- Collaborate closely with clients, project teams, and field personnel
- Review and ensure quality of engineering studies and reports
- Mentor and train junior engineers
What You Bring
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

- Project scoping and estimating
- Mentorship or team leadership experience
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work experience, combining:
- Office / remote work using advanced power system and relay software
- Field work at substations, plants, and facilities supporting testing and commissioning
- Collaborative project work with engineers, technicians, and clients
You’ll be part of a professional environment that prioritizes technical excellence, precision, and high-quality results—while giving you the flexibility to work in ways that maximize your effectiveness.
Who Thrives Here
You’ll succeed in this role if you:
- Enjoy diving deep into technical challenges
- Take pride in delivering high-quality engineering work
- Like mentoring others and sharing your knowledge
