This role focuses on programming advanced 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC parts using Siemens NX CAD/CAM software for aerospace, defense, and other high-precision industries. You develop efficient machining strategies, handle tight-tolerance work, and collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure flawless execution. You play a key role in troubleshooting and optimizing complex tool paths to achieve precise and reliable results.
Responsibilities- Program advanced 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC parts using Siemens NX CAD/CAM software.
- Create, refine, and maintain complex tool paths to achieve absolute precision on high-precision components.
- Develop efficient machining strategies across a wide range of materials, geometries, and part complexities.
- Work on tight-tolerance parts for aerospace, defense, and other high-precision applications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure programs are manufacturable and meet design intent.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs, tooling, and strategies to improve accuracy and reliability.
- Optimize cycle times, tooling usage, and machining processes to enhance productivity and quality.
- Apply knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and G-code to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate machining.
- Review and verify programs before release to the shop floor to minimize errors and rework.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail while working under pressure and meeting demanding project requirements.
- Hands-on experience with 3-, 4-, and/or 5-axis CNC programming.
- Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD/CAM software for CNC programming.
- Strong understanding of G-code and CNC machine operations.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, toolpaths, feeds, speeds, and material behavior in machining.
- Experience working with high-precision parts and tight, demanding tolerances.
- Background in aerospace or other high-precision industries.
- Ability to troubleshoot and refine complex tool paths for optimal performance.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, especially when working under pressure.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering and production teams.
- Experience with CNC programming environments and workflows, including setup and verification.
- Experience with Swiss machining or Swiss-type CNC equipment.
- Familiarity with Mastercam or other CAD/CAM software in addition to Siemens NX.
- Broad exposure to aerospace machining requirements and standards.
- Ability to adapt machining strategies to a variety of materials and complex geometries.
- Comfort working on defense and other high-precision industry projects.
- Interest in continuous improvement of machining processes and programming methods.

This is an on-site role in a production and engineering environment, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime is available and optional, providing flexibility based on workload and personal preference. You work closely with CNC machines, CAD/CAM workstations, and production teams in a setting focused on high-precision aerospace and defense components. The environment emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration, with access to modern CNC equipment and software tools. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
