Job Description
The HEDIS Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare quality initiatives by ensuring accurate collection, validation, and reporting of HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) data. This position involves partnering with internal teams and external provider offices to retrieve medical records, monitor quality metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement. The coordinator is vital in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting overall quality performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve, review, and validate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to support HEDIS data collection.
- Coordinate medical record requests and follow up with provider offices to ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Monitor productivity and accuracy metrics, ensuring high-quality data abstraction and reporting.
- Support HEDIS project timelines by tracking outreach progress and resolving barriers to record retrieval.
- Analyze quality data and assist in identifying gaps in care and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in the development and execution of action plans to improve HEDIS scores and overall quality performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all activities within internal tracking systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality improvement, operations, and provider relations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data privacy regulations when handling protected health information.
- Proficiency in medical records management and data entry.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Understanding of medical terminology and quality improvement processes.
- Familiarity with healthcare support and health information management.
- Associate's Degree or higher.
- Active Medical Assistant licensure or LPN licensure in good standing.
- Previous HEDIS audit experience is required.
This position offers a 100% remote work environment, providing all necessary equipment. The role involves working independently while collaborating as part of a team.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
