Job Description
The Reach Truck Operator safely unloads and transports palletized freight using Crown reach trucks in a large, high-volume distribution center. This role focuses on accurate put-away and replenishment of products using RF scanner technology, supporting order selectors by moving pallets from high racking to accessible locations while maintaining safety, speed, and accuracy standards on an early-morning production shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate Crown reach trucks, deep reach, and stand-up forklifts to unload freight shipments and move palletized materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform put-away tasks by safely unloading freight and transporting pallets to their designated locations using an RF scanner installed in the truck.
- Execute replenishment by moving skids from higher racking down to lower racking so order selectors can efficiently pick orders.
- Work confidently with very tall racking, maintaining safe operating practices at height at all times.
- Use RF scanners, headsets, and warehouse systems to track, scan, and confirm product movement with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety in all warehouse activities, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment while meeting production and accuracy metrics.
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure products are placed in correct locations and deadlines are consistently met.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with warehouse team members and leaders to support smooth operations.
- Respond professionally to feedback and handle challenging or high-pressure situations appropriately.
- Support overall cleanliness and organization by keeping work areas neat and following facility standards.
- Proven experience operating reach trucks or deep reach equipment in a warehouse environment (required).
- Demonstrated ability to operate Crown reach trucks and stand-up forklifts safely around very tall racking.
- Comfort working at height while operating reach equipment in narrow aisles and high racking.
- Ability to use RF scanners and related warehouse technology to track inventory movement accurately.
- Capability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently meet deadlines and accuracy standards.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
- Professional response to feedback and the ability to handle difficult or stressful situations appropriately.
- Commitment to safety as the top priority in all warehouse operations.
- Experience working in large distribution centers or grocery distribution environments.
- Familiarity with production metrics that measure accuracy, speed, and efficiency.

Work Environment
This role is based in a 1 million square foot distribution center that supports grocery stores and operates as a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse. The facility includes both room-temperature, non-climate-controlled (ambient) areas and refrigerated sections, and employees must be willing to work in refrigerated temperatures as needed. The distribution center is very organized and clean, reflecting a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency. Team members use Crown reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, RF scanners, and headset-based systems as part of their daily work. The shift runs from 3:00 a.m. until the end of production, typically around 11:30 a.m., providing a consistent early-morning schedule. The site offers a comfortable break area with open vending options and a professional, safety-conscious environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
