IMMEDIATELY HIRING SHEET METAL MECHANICS IN ASHEBORO, NC
PAY $27-35 PER HOUR
MONDAY - THURS 7AM - 530PM
Responsibilities
- Fabricate HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components, including rectangular, round, and spiral duct systems.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, rollers, and plasma cutting machines.
- Measure, mark, and lay out sheet metal based on blueprints and shop drawings.
- Cut, bend, and form sheet metal to required dimensions and configurations.
- Assemble ductwork and fittings, ensuring proper alignment, secure connections, and structural integrity.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications and shop standards.
- Smooth seams, joints, and surfaces to ensure proper fit, finish, and appearance.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete fabrication tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle materials and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, specifically with HVAC ductwork and related components.
- Proficiency with fabrication tools such as snips, brakes, shears, and power tools.
- Ability to accurately measure, lay out, and mark sheet metal from blueprints and shop drawings.
- Ability to set up and operate press brakes, shears, rollers, and plasma cutting machines.
- Knowledge of HVAC duct systems and fabrication standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy fabrication shop environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with rectangular, round, and spiral duct systems.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to identify and correct defects or inconsistencies in fabricated components.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Reliability and commitment to meeting production timelines and quality expectations.
This is a Contract position based out of Asheboro, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
