Job Description
This position is responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic financial planning. You will play a critical role in overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, and multi-state regulatory adherence while serving as a key partner to senior leadership. The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day finance operations, support M&A integration efforts, and develop a high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
- Oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and multi-state regulatory adherence.
- Serve as a key partner to senior leadership for strategic financial planning.
- Manage day-to-day finance operations and support M&A integration efforts.
- Develop and nurture a high-performing finance team.
- Drive financial excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Essential Skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar programs.
- 7+ years in a senior financial leadership role with a company having $100M+ in revenue.
- Experience with a 'roll-up strategy', including due diligence, M&A integration, and financial consolidation.
- Deep knowledge of multi-state tax compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis and SOX compliance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Financial modeling experience in Microsoft Excel is highly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
- Ability to guide and coach finance leaders, with strong communication skills.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic, with frequent changes and opportunities for growth. The company is currently at $100M in revenue and aims to reach $500M through aggressive M&A efforts. You will be working with multiple ERP systems, including Sage 300/Timberline, and integrating smaller businesses into a centralized accounting strategy. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial as the role will evolve over time, initially focusing on establishing processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and FP&A tasks. The position requires balancing multiple responsibilities, with half the time dedicated to FP&A-related tasks as Controllers come up to speed.
