Job Description

This position involves assisting the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew. The major objectives include ensuring the quality, accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, and regulatory compliance of work, maintaining public relations, ensuring safety, meeting schedules, staying within budgets, and providing responsive service to clients. You will be responsible for operating equipment, maintaining a safe work environment, protecting and maintaining equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collecting field data, and locating features. Some overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, and regulatory compliance of work.
• Maintain public relations and ensure safety.
• Meet schedules and stay within budgets.
• Provide responsive service to clients.
• Operate equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
• Protect and maintain equipment and vehicles.
• Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features.

Essential Skills

• Experience in SUE field operations.
• Proficiency with survey equipment including total stations and GPS.
• Experience with SUE locating equipment or hydrographic equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electromagnetic, vacuum excavation, ground penetrating radar, and land surveying.
• Experience with utility locating and subsurface utility engineering.
• Experience with mapping, using vac trucks, and excavation.

Work Environment

This role requires a lot of walking outside year-round through various terrains and in extreme heat and cold. The position is 100% field-based, traveling to jobs in the Carolinas, VA, GA, and other locations. The work involves some overnight travel.
