Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Mechanical Assemblers to join a production team focused on insulation fabrication and installation. In this role, you will cut, fit, and install insulation on shells, heads, and piping while following detailed work instructions, prints, and bills of materials.
This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality by verifying vacuum integrity and documenting readings for leak detection and traceability—all within a clean, climate-controlled facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Review travelers, engineering prints, and Bills of Materials (BOM) to understand job requirements
- Verify materials are available, accurate, and in good condition prior to assembly
- Cut, fit, and install insulation on shells, heads, and piping per specifications
- Apply adhesives, bands, and jacketing to ensure durable, secure installations
- Record vacuum readings before and after insulation to support leak detection and quality tracking
- Accurately complete check sheets and production documentation
- Safely use hand and power tools for insulation and assembly tasks
- Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) protocols, including PPE and respirator requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Collaborate with team members to meet production and quality goals
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in insulation fabrication, mechanical assembly, or similar work
- Ability to read and interpret prints, travelers, and BOMs
- Experience installing insulation using adhesives, bands, and jacketing
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to stand/walk for 8–10 hours per shift
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Commitment to safety standards and PPE usage, including respirator fit testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume production
- Basic knowledge of vacuum systems or leak testing
- General fabrication, installation, or industrial labor experience
- Ability to follow structured work instructions and quality procedures

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
