We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join a highly collaborative and forward-thinking Building Engineering team. In this role, you’ll lead the design and delivery of advanced mechanical systems while playing a key role in shaping project success, client relationships, and the next generation of engineering talent.
The Opportunity
- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems across diverse projects, including new construction, renovations, and design-build work
- Partner directly with clients to develop innovative concepts, perform feasibility studies, and guide technical decisions
- Oversee projects from initial concept through construction, ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with client goals
Your Impact
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the go-to expert for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and process piping systems
- Drive design excellence and ensure high-performance, efficient building solutions
- Influence project outcomes through thoughtful system selection and integration
Team Development
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing
- Help build a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence
Project & Business Leadership
- Manage project scope, budgets, and schedules while maintaining high standards
- Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals and client pursuits
- Build long-term client relationships through trust, responsiveness, and expertise
What You Bring
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (North Carolina preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in an A/E consulting environment
- Strong expertise in building mechanical systems, including HVAC design and coordination
- Proficiency in Revit / Revit MEP and producing high-quality construction documents
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage complex, multi-discipline projects with confidence
- Passion for mentoring, innovation, and delivering high-quality work
