Power Systems Engineer II
Lead High-Impact Power Projects Across Critical Facilities
We’re looking for a Power Systems Engineer II ready to take ownership of meaningful work—leading power system projects that directly impact essential industries like healthcare, data centers, industrial operations, and infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll operate as a key technical leader within your assigned territory, combining hands-on field experience with advanced analysis and design to deliver reliable, safe, and efficient power solutions. You’ll work closely with clients, tackle complex challenges, and see your work through from concept to implementation.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the primary power systems engineer for your region, driving analysis, design, and troubleshooting across a variety of facility types.
- Perform advanced power system studies including short-circuit, coordination, load flow, and arc flash analysis.
- Conduct field assessments and power quality testing, identifying and resolving real-world electrical issues.
- Design and improve low- and medium-voltage distribution systems, including grounding and protection schemes.
- Collaborate directly with clients to present findings, recommend solutions, and guide key decisions.
- Utilize tools such as SKM, ETAP, Easypower, and AutoCAD to model and document systems.
- Lead or support on-site engineering activities, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA standards.
- Contribute to project planning and proposals, supporting both execution and business growth.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3–7 years of relevant power systems experience.
- Hands-on experience in power system studies and electrical distribution design.
- Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, and NEC standards.
- Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, or Easypower, with strong technical documentation skills.
- Ability to independently manage projects, prioritize effectively, and engage directly with clients.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- EIT or PE license (or actively pursuing licensure).
- Experience within a consulting engineering environment.
- Familiarity with protection systems, modeling, and electrical layouts.
- Experience supporting proposals and client presentations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Concord, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
