Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA General Industrial Safety Standards and Construction Safety Standards. This role involves carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance on machines, equipment, plant facilities, and grounds, ensuring uninterrupted operation and production capabilities. The technician will act as a backup in the absence of the Senior Maintenance and Facilities Technician or Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to 29 CFR 1910 OSHA General Industrial Safety Standards and 29 CFR 1926 Construction Safety Standards for facilities services staff and supervised contracted service personnel.
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on machines, equipment, plant facilities, and grounds, including steam boilers, HVAC systems, electrical systems, water treatment systems, and other utility systems.
- Respond to maintenance calls off shift and be available for overtime as needed.
- Exhibit an internal auditor’s mindset by regularly monitoring and evaluating systems and processes to assure optimum quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all systems as needed to maintain operations, and assist and oversee contractors and service vendors performing contracted work.
- Uphold compliance with all company policies and procedures, particularly those involving safety and quality, and adhere to regulatory body standards and GMP/GDP best practices.
- Document all performed work, inspections, and maintenance activities in the CMMS (eMaint) to maintain accurate records and quality compliance.
- Assist with the installation, testing, and validation of new production equipment.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactively seek professional and personal development opportunities.
- Undertake any other functions and tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Electrical, Plumbing, Troubleshooting, Facilities maintenance, Maintenance technician, HVAC, Mechanical, Repair, Preventive maintenance, Facilities, Hydraulics, Pneumatics.
- Relevant Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) system experience or related military specialty (2+ years).
- Experience independently troubleshooting and evaluating equipment failures (1+ years).
- Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and math skills.
- Updated knowledge of technical, building operations, basic mechanical systems, and facilities management best practices.
- Experience reading and interpreting documents such as maintenance instructions, manuals, prints, mechanical blueprints, and electrical/pneumatic schematics (1+ years).
- Ability to read and interpret regulatory and safety guidelines applicable to the industry (1+ years).
- Competent in using computer programs, including email, project management or maintenance software, and spreadsheets.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain forklift, aerial lift, and other powered lift system qualifications.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Concord, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.05 - $33.72/hr.
