A consumer product tobacco alternative organization is seeking a Lab Technician for their Quality Control (QC) Team. The role is based in Durham, NC, and involves supporting the Chemistry and Regulatory Testing and regulatory submissions. The Lab Technician will be a hands-on, laboratory-based role responsible for testing products for regulatory submissions. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced environment, capable of collaborating well with other team members.
Responsibilities- Perform preparation of e-liquid and aerosol samples for analysis.
- Conduct non-chromatographic methods on e-liquids and aerosol samples, such as pH, water activity, density, and particle sizing.
- Collect aerosol samples routinely from ENDS devices.
- Prepare reagents for laboratory usage.
- Clean laboratory glassware.
- Receive and log samples and supplies into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Write and review scientific documents in a timely manner, including SOPs, VOPs, and Work Instructions.
- Manage regulatory documents systematically in a highly organized fashion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- At least one year of experience in an analytical laboratory is preferred.
- Strong pipetting and weighing skills.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise written documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- High motivation and flexibility.
- Experience with vaping machines and collection techniques is preferred.
- ENDS or nicotine-related products experience is preferred.
- Experience in a regulated laboratory environment such as ISO is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Chemistry or previous experience in a chemistry lab.
The position is based on-site in Durham, NC, operating during normal business hours. The work is conducted in a vapor lab environment, focusing on preparation for quality control rather than direct testing. This smaller lab offers growth opportunities, as evidenced by team members advancing to roles in QA or running instruments such as GCMS.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
