BIM Modeler/Sr. Designer
About the Role
We're looking for a BIM Modeler to support industrial and commercial projects through the development, maintenance, and coordination of high-quality BIM models. In this role, you'll work closely with project teams and the BIM Manager to ensure models meet project requirements, maintain company standards, and support successful project execution.

What You'll Do
- Develop, maintain, and manage project BIM models and associated support documentation in accordance with project requirements and company BIM standards.
- Set up BIM models at project kickoff, establishing the structure and organization needed for efficient project delivery.
- Monitor model health, identify issues proactively, and resolve inconsistencies to maintain model accuracy and quality.
- Produce and manage model deliverables, including views, sheets, and exported files used for design, coordination, and construction documentation.
- Perform BIM coordination activities including model federation, clash detection, and interdisciplinary coordination using Navisworks.
- Provide technical BIM support to project teams, helping troubleshoot issues and promote BIM best practices.
- Partner with the BIM Manager to identify opportunities for workflow improvements, content development, and training initiatives.
- Communicate BIM processes and concepts effectively to users with varying levels of experience.
- Support and mentor team members in the effective use of BIM tools, workflows, and standards.
- Apply industrial and commercial drafting and design principles, with a focus on supporting electrical-related disciplines.
- Ensure all BIM and CAD documentation aligns with ANSI drafting standards.
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on quality, continuous improvement, and professional development.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on Autodesk Revit experience.
- Experience creating and maintaining BIM models in a professional design environment.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks, including model federation and clash detection workflows.
- Understanding of ANSI drafting standards and drafting best practices.
- Familiarity with electrical design concepts and industry terminology.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical BIM concepts clearly.
- Ability to support and train team members on BIM tools and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for BIM technology and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- in industrial and/or commercial design environments.
- Electrical design, drafting, or field experience.
- Experience with 3D design and complex model development.
- Interest in helping improve BIM standards, workflows, and best practices across projects.
Work Environment
This position is based primarily in our Gastonia office, with approximately 99% of time spent supporting design and BIM activities. You'll work extensively with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and related BIM technologies while collaborating closely with project teams and the BIM Manager.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gastonia, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.06 - $48.08/hr.
