Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician
Job Description
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing comprehensive testing and results documentation of finished goods, stability, and in-process samples within the QC Chemistry/Micro Laboratory. This role requires adherence to established standards and involves various tasks such as environmental monitoring, water testing, and preparatory set-up.
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental monitoring and water testing up to 50% of the time.
- Perform calibrations and standardizations of instruments like balances and pH meters.
- Assist with laboratory inventory, including stocking, receiving, and storing media/solutions.
- Prepare and stage solutions for testing by analysts.
- Independently perform core testing techniques or methods on raw materials, finished goods, stability, and in-process samples, accounting for up to 20% of work time.
- Perform testing that has the highest level of difficulty compared to other methods.
- Ensure current calibration of critical laboratory equipment before use.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization, including cleaning benches, sinks, drawers, cabinets, and other areas, accounting for up to 25% of work time.
- Clean laboratory pipettes and other glassware as needed.
- Maintain laboratory instruments by disposing of waste, cleaning them, and replacing consumable parts.
- Ensure lab areas are audit-ready at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and development, focusing on technology, accounting for up to 5% of work time.
- Train other analysts in areas of expertise such as chromatographic techniques and laboratory documentation.
- Actively participate in or lead laboratory projects and teams, proposing solutions to encountered problems.
Essential Skills
- Experience in Quality Control Laboratory in a GMP Pharmaceutical facility.
- Proficiency in GMP, Biology, Quality Control, Cleanroom practices, Pharmaceutical knowledge, Wet chemistry, Analytical chemistry, and Quality Assurance.
- Strong analytical testing skills.
- Ability to perform preparatory set-ups and aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge in sterilization and raw material testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Work Environment
This position operates in a laboratory setting with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of High Point, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
