Our Client is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing and enhancing a critical real-time financial platform, including the development of new applications and features while improving the functionality, reliability, and performance of existing applications. The Software Engineer works directly with Product teams to ensure quality code deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with client standards. The Software Engineer also works closely with Operations and Technology teams to define and implement new features and ensure system resiliency.
Candidate will develop, test, enhance, and support highly reliable applications for the payments industry while utilizing AI-assisted automation and engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on software engineer who possesses a solid foundation in Java development and Python scripting, along with a strong interest in building industry-critical applications using cloud, containerization, automation, and distributed systems technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain highly reliable software supporting real-time payment processing.
- Write clean, maintainable Java code that complies with client quality standards and secure coding practices.
- Develop software components leveraging enterprise Java frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.
- Develop Python scripts and programs for data automation, analysis, and integration services.
- Develop and maintain services, APIs, application components, and automated test frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, troubleshooting, and engineering design activities.
- Assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and root-cause analysis.
- Participate in the modernization of existing applications and migration toward cloud-native platforms.
- Build applications on AWS cloud platforms utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
- Work with containerized applications and Kubernetes-based environments for component-based releases.
- Contribute to microservices architectures and distributed systems initiatives.
- Support highly available and highly reliable systems designed for financial transaction processing.
- Apply CI/CD practices for automated building, testing, and deployment of high-quality software.
- Use approved AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, documentation, and continuous quality improvement in accordance with enterprise controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of Java software development experience, including analysis, design, development, documentation, implementation, and testing of software systems.
- Experience developing Python scripts and programs for data management, automation, and analysis.
- Exposure to AWS or another major public cloud provider.
- Familiarity with cloud-native application architectures, microservices, containers, and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD and automated software build and deployment processes.

This is a Permanent position based out of High Point, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $142000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
